The following body of work was completed during my classes as an Advertising major at the University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. Detailed next to each piece is a description of the assignment and any relevant information that pertains.

Magazine Cover Design
We were assigned the task of creating a magazine cover that relates to our future intended career path or is on a topic in which we're knowledgeable. After spending three summers in Maine, I chose to create a fictional magazine based off of the northeastern lifestyle.

Mandatories included a masthead, a main image, main coverline, two supporting coverlines, a dateline, and a barcode. It was created using Adobe InDesign and meets standard specifications for print.

Throughout the revision process of the assignment, I changed my main image to one that drew attention to one side of the magazine cover so I could feature my coverlines on the other side to balance it out. I also adjusted the sizing of my fonts as they were too big prior to my final submission.

Advertisement Redesign
The assignment featured above was to take the text content from an existing bad design and reformat it using good design principles into a new advertisement. The goal was to demonstrate how we can take a current project and improve upon it, even when the necessary changes yield drastic results. We were asked to combine our knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign to come up with dynamic, creative solutions.

My drafts ended up looking nothing like my final design as I wasn't happy with the image I chose, and the first selection was too busy. I'm very happy with the final design and think it does a good job of letting the mass amount of information breathe and have its own space.

Social Media Campaign
Our social media campaign assignment took the task of designing an ad for an event and formatting it appropriately for various social media platforms and adjusting placement and sizing as necessary.

The biggest changes I made from the drafts to the final submission were adjusting typography and improving legibility of the text colors. I wasn't able to fit both photographs in the Instagram square, but I'm pleased with how the effect still translates despite removing a visual element.

Billboard Concepting & Execution
Unlike those previously listed above, this assignment asked us to promote the consumption of a fruit using a billboard format. My assigned fruit was the lime, and I chose to cater discreetly to adults on the highway. We had to use facts about the fruit to inspire an attention-grabbing headline, and I focused on the vitamins that are in limes as justification that could be used by adults to enjoy a drink at the bar. I was cautious to not be outright with the imagery, however, and went with an image that could be interpreted as a glass of water.
